WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND RAISED?
I was born in Santa Clara, California and raised in Santa Cruz, California.

TELL US A BRIEF HISTORY OF YOUR PERSONAL PRACTICE
I started regularly practicing yoga in 2016, when I was a freshman at UC Santa Barbara. I played volleyball in high school and loved regularly going to the gym, but when I found yoga, I found a deep love for what was happening beyond the physical practice. Fast forward to 2018 and I enrolled in my first 200-hour yoga teacher training, which pretty much changed the trajectory of my life and what my priorities and passions were. Whenever I'm facing challenges, going to the yoga mat is my place to connect inward--to find peace, playfulness, and to listen to my intuition. This practice has made me fall in love with myself and with life.

TELL US A BRIEF HISTORY OF YOUR TEACHING EXPERIENCE
In 2018, I completed my first 200-hour training in Hot Power Fusion at CorePower Yoga in Santa Barbara. That same year, I also trained to teach Yoga Sculpt at CorePower. I absolutely loved teaching yoga and wanted to learn even more about vinyasa yoga, so I completed another 200-hour training in Power Yoga at CorePower Yoga in 2019. I was teaching classes 3-4 times a week and absolutely loving connecting with my students through mindful movement and really feeling into this newfound sense of confidence in myself. At this point, I knew I wanted to be RYT-500 but the pandemic in 2020 put a hold on pursuing more trainings. Like many yoga teachers during this time, I shifted to teaching online until studios re-opened. In 2021, I began completing my RYT-500 with Myofascial and Yin-Yang Yoga training with my friend and mentor, Paul Teodo, who teaches yoga at The Yoga Barn in Bali, Indonesia and studied yoga under Bryan Kest. In 2022, I went to Bali to further study Power Yoga at The Yoga Barn in Bali, where I was trained by Paul Teodo and Byron de Marse. In August of 2023, I completed my RYT-500 in Bali with Paul Teodo and Leah Santa Cruz through training in Modern Instincts Meditation at The Yoga Barn.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE YOGA POSE?
My favorite yoga pose is half pigeon because I love the deep hip stretch and how it is a posture that can provide great emotional release.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE YOGA/SPIRITUALITY/SELF HELP BOOK?

My favorite yoga/spirituality book is "The Untethered Soul" by Michael A. Singer. The moment I picked up the book, I was absolutely engrossed in his writings and started seeing the world through a different lense. It's a book I like to go back to read because I glean a little something different each time I read it.

ANY ADVICE FOR BEGINNERS?
Be patient with yourself and stay open to what yoga has to offer you; everyone's practice is going to look and feel different so trust in whatever you're experiencing while you're doing yoga and if you're curious or have any questions, don't feel intimidated to ask your teacher!

WHAT DOES “COMMUNITY” MEAN TO YOU?
Community means a place or group of people where you feel safe to be yourself and you feel loved and accepted for your authenticity.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT VENTURA?
After living in Santa Barbara for the past seven years, I love that Ventura has similarities of the ocean and the mountains nearby to enjoy and explore. While Ventura is a new community for me to live in, I've always enjoyed the energy of the community when I've visited my family and friends who live here. It's a community that definitely aligns with my values of spending time outside and enjoying the natural beauty in the world.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION?
My favorite local non-profit organization is the Santa Barbara Humane society because that is wear I adopted my dog Milo. I also enjoy working with the Alzheimer's Association in Santa Barbara because I had a grandfather who suffered from Alzheimer's and like to support the research for prevention of this disease.
